These are the R2Controls press releases we've issued.
News 2023 -- Rick is finally updating his web page after many years of delay. There are lots of things happening with the energy transition and between my work as a light commission, my energy engineering experience with (gas, oil, coal, wind, solar, nuclear and both Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) and electric vehicles) and my work with ARC where I have studied the markets for all things related to electric grids, I want to use this broad perspective and publish useful and educational information on my website. There is still a lot of uncertainty about how the energy transition unfolds, and many changes are required to reduce the already encroaching impacts of climate change. As an engineer during this amazing time of change, decisions and innovations made today will define shape the power grid for the next 100 years and more. R2 Controls is not actively seeking new projects, but still working for ARC as a consultant and market analyst using his experience to cover the energy transition. Rick successfully ran for re-election in May 2023 (unopposed) for his third the 3-year term for PMLD light commissioner. Rick has always been an engineer and a doer of challenging projects and personally has trimmed his carbon footprint by more than 95%. While it will take time, the rural town of Princeton, MA needs help to transition away from fossil fuels for heating our homes and providing transportation. This starts with an electric grid that supplies power from a carbon free portfolio at a reasonable cost in a challenging rural environment. This is a challenge shared by many persons in Princeton.
News 2023 Rick has been working as a consultant and energy analyst at ARC since 2015 which has dominated his time (www.ARCWEB.com) He has studied several markets, such as Operator Training Simulators, Systems Integrator and Automation Service providers, Grid Automation (SCADA and substations), Grid scale batterers, Grid Asset Management Software, Hydrogen Electrolyzer suppliers, and Microgrid Automation Systems. With access to the top suppliers in these industries, Rick has written extensively on the energy transition, and especially, the automation of electric grids. Some of this market data is restricted to ARC clients but much of it is available on the ARC web site. https://www.arcweb.com/analysts/rick-rys
News 2017 -- R2 Controls office has moved to the mountains of Princeton MA.
